 The Kid's Korner Preschool
Program Description
Our Program follows the principles of Child Development. Our goal is to give our children a creative and happy experience in a pleasant environment in which they will learn the disciplines of the classroom while enjoying hands-on and free-play activities during the school day. Daily structured activities vary between individual and group instruction. Each child learns at his or her own pace.
Located in a cozy brownstone in the heart of Chelsea, The Kid's Korner Preschool has been offering children ages 2 to 5 an exceptional learning experience since 1993. Each child's curiosity, initiative and creativity is nurtured in a fun, safe and stimulating environment. We welcome children from all cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
We celebrate each child's unique interests, abilities and learning styles. Through various organized activities and free play, the program supports each child's total development: social, emotional, intellectual and physical.
Our child-centered approach to learning enables each child to explore and discover their world through first hand experiences in our classroom centers: reading corner, science, blocks and puzzles, computer, housekeeping, art, drama and music. Children also play everyday in our secure playground.

Our small classes afford a low student/teacher ratio. Each class is staffed by teachers certified in Early Childhood Education by New York State and New York City. Kid's Korner is licensed by the New York City Department of Health.
The Kid's Korner Preschool has been recognized for its many areas of excellence by the National Association for the Education of Youung Children (NAEYC) and Quality New York. We strive to maintain NAEYC's high standards and developmentally appropriate practices within our school.
Teachers keep parents informed of their child's development through informal and scheduled conferences. We take pride in being a family-oriented community based school.
Open year round from 8am to 6pm, Kid's Korner provides healthy snacks. To accomodate the needs of working parents, we offer flexible hours and days, full or part-time classes.
We strive to give young children a warm and accepting environment where they will develop confidence, self-esteem, inner-discipline and increasing independence.
SCHOOLS
Chelsea's best-kept secret, Kid's Korner Preschool is a NAEYC-accredited pre-school/nursery school, whose intimate, small classrooms are designed to provide a sense of warmth and acceptance for children. A backyard brings the country to the city, "paved" with fake grass so that children can take off their shoes, lie down, and look at the clouds. The calm, quiet space is decorated with birds, butterflies and sunflowers.
