Offering a diverse camp curriculum, our famous Junior Division has it all: Swimming, Field Sports, Pier 25, Gym Classes, Karate, Tennis, Arts and Crafts, Movement/Dance, Drumming, Story Pirates Creative Drama, Family Song Shows, Field Trips and More!
Our Senior Division provides choices for older children.

Our curriculum is designed to bring the "country day camp" experience to New York City. We introduce children to a wide variety of activities in order to broaden their interests and experiences. Most importantly however, is our deep commitment to the physical, social, and emotional well-being of each child in our care. We want our children to be successful in the activities we offer, and the relationships they build.
Our camp is led by our returning director, Russ Schulman, Phd. In addition to being at the Downtown Day Camps since the beginning in 1992, Russ has over two decades of experience, ranging from elementary school teacher to teacher educator. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Education from New York University. Famous for his pleasant manner, people skills and sense of humor, Russ is responsible for the positive, professional and collaborative atmosphere at our camps.Our other administrators, our Team Leaders, have a wealth of experience working in schools and camps as teachers and administrators. This added level of supervision ensures that our counselors are coached to meet the highest professional standards.
