Description: More than 20,000 people, featuring over 210 groups, including veterans of all eras, military service members, floats, military and vintage vehicles and civic and patriotic corporations, will march in this year's New York City Veterans Day Parade, the largest in the nation, down Fifth Avenue from 26th to 56th Streets.
This year's theme, "United We Stand," will commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War.
Among the honorary participants in the parade are US Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Robert Papp and Grand Marshals Mayor Edward I. Koch and National Commander of The American Legion Fang Wong.
Simultaneously, New Yorkers can visit the "Patriot's Row" Street Fair 9am-6pm, on 56th Street between Madison Avenue and Sixth Avenue. This major New York City fair will include hundreds of booths and displays along with a special section highlighting services and opportunities for the veterans and military community.
The annual event, presented by the United War Veterans Council, serves as an opportunity for us to honor the brave men and women from every generation who have risked their lives to preserve our freedom.
The event will take place rain or shine.
