Description: The first annual East River Moon Festival will introduce market-goers to the traditional mid-autumn harvest celebrations that take place throughout East Asia on the full moon day of the eighth month of the Chinese lunar calendar.
The day-long festivities will include a traditional lion dance performance, Asian-inspired market fare, a dumpling making workshop with chef Wai Hon Chu from Wholefoods Culinary Center, and lantern making for children with the Museum of Chinese in America.
At sundown, from 6-8pm, there will be a community lantern-lighting gathering.
