Description: Based on the book by Margery Williams and adapted for the stage by Kevin Del Aguila ("Click Clack Moo," "Altar Boyz"), this wonder-filled production is a testament to the power of a child's imagination. With a little bit of nursery magic, three actors and their simple props transform into a wise old rocking horse, a cavalcade of mechanical playthings, a kind-hearted fairy, and of course, a stuffed rabbit who is transformed by the love of a young boy.
Venue Description: Built in 2002, the DR2 Theatre is located in Union Square, the newest addition to the Off-Broadway scene. The DR2 has 99 seats, making it an intimate venue, and includes a renovated lobby, technical control room with its own light and sound board, two large dressing rooms, air conditioning, and more. The theater is available to rent, complete with a professional staff consisting of a treasurer, house manager, usher, and porter. The service package includes use of the lighting and sound equipment, HVAC use, and two backlit poster cases outside. The DR2 has partnered with Telecharge.com for its ticketing services. Artistic director Daryl Roth has produced five Pulitzer Prize-winning plays, including Proof by David Auburn and Wit by Margaret Edson. Adam Hess is the general manager for DR2 Theatre as well as the Daryl Roth Theatre.
