Description: The Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival presented by Food & Wine brings back its featured family program Fun and Fit in the City presented by Target hosted by Guy Fieri for the 2012 Festival. Taking place on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Basketball City (Pier 36), both children and their parents will enjoy a full day of healthy food samplings, fitness activities, star-studded cooking demonstrations, and more.
Planned activities for the day include demonstrations on The Healthy and Easy Cooking Demo Stage featuring culinary stars Sunny Anderson, Melissa d'Arabian, Giada De Laurentiis, Rachael Ray, Andrew Zimmern, and host Guy Fieri, who will share some of their favorite quick and simple tricks for keeping meals balanced; the opportunity to get more involved in helping to end hunger in your community by participating in a "repacking" activity where children and their parents will have the opportunity to pack a box of donated goods for families' in-need that will go straight to the Food Bank For New York City; and the MOVE! program, where kids of all ages can engage in physical fitness activities aimed at keeping both the mind and body strong.
Created to help educate families about healthy and simple lifestyle options, Fun and Fit in the City presented by Target is a full day of activity that is open to everyone. Food Network star Guy Fieri will serve as the ultimate host: cooking, running, jumping, and sampling. None of the day's happenings are off-limits for this dad.
